THE DECISION ON THE AMENDMENT OF RESOLUTION 32 ON THE PROTECTION OF THE TURKISH CURRENCY (DECISION NUMBER: 3557)

Summary: With the Official Gazette published today, some amendments were made in Article 7 of the Law No. 32 on the Protection of the Value of Turkish Currency. The changes made accordingly;
a) (a) Coming after the first sentence of the first paragraph of Clause ‘The Ministry is authorized to regulate the import of unprocessed precious metals according to different payment methods. The sentence has been added and the phrase '2008/6' in the same paragraph has been changed as 2017/4.
b) (a) At the beginning of the second paragraph of Clause ‘Within the scope of Inward Processing Regime Decision, the import of non-standard unprocessed precious metals is free. However, the phrase '' has been added and the phrase '' and 'non-standard unprocessed precious metals' except the Inward Processing Regime '' has been added to come after 'standard unprocessed precious metals' in the same paragraph and at the end of the same paragraph the ministry is authorized to determine the exceptions for unprocessed precious metal import. The sentence is attached.
c) (ç) Subparagraph, on the other hand, is authorized to make a regulation on bringing standard unprocessed precious metals to the country with passengers, if required.
Relevant articles were rearranged, as follows. The most striking change with the amendment is that, before the exemption correction in paragraph (ç), passengers were allowed to carry standard unprocessed gold up to 5 kg, and such a restriction was lifted with the change.
